Steak Dinner for Two
Valentine’s Day is on a week day this year, which means you might consider staying home. And what better to enjoy the evening then a home cooked steak dinner with garlic chive butter? PS. my single people out there, this steak is for you too!
Serving size: 2
2 rib eye steaks, cut to preference
1/3 cup salted butter, softened
2 tbsp fresh black pepper
2 tbsp salt
1/3 cup chives, chopped
1 tbsp minced garlic, from a jar (or fresh if preferred)
4 sprigs of rosemary
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
For the butter, combine butter, chives and garlic and mix well. Set aside.
For the meat, generously coat both sides of the both meats with a ton of black pepper and salt.
In a cast iron skillet, put 1 tbsp of your special butter with the rosemary and let that sit for a few seconds. Add the steak and sear on both sides for about a minute on each side. This may vary depending on how you like your meat cooked and on how thick your cut of steak is.
Add a little more of the butter and stick the skillet in your hot oven for about 4 minutes. Once again depending on preference and cut of meat.
Top with more butter and enjoy!
