Finding Thanksgiving in NYC

Finding Thanksgiving in NYC

Turkey day is fast approaching and we could not be more prepared. Light meat, dark meat, thighs, toes, fingers... I don't care I'll take it all. We love it so much that Americans consume over 46 million turkeys every Thanksgiving. Talk about #gains...

So whether you're eating out this Thanksgiving, or just want to make the tryptophan high last more than one day, here's your guide to finding all the November noms in NYC!

The Thanksgiving pizza at Industry Kitchen in the Seaport, delivers everything in one: pulled turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, mozzarella, shaved pecorino and walnuts piled high on a crispy flatbread.

For the Italian-Americans, we've got your pre-dinner antipasto from Dante in Greenwich Village.

Head to Empire Diner in Chelsea for the unsung hero of Thanksgiving: buttermilk biscuits.

And since it wouldn't be Thanksgiving without pie, Executive Pastry Chef Johana Langi created stunning seasonal specials at The Lambs Club in Midtown. This one is their open-faced apple pie made with spiced apples, cream cheese pie dough and apricot glaze:

The Lambs Club is owned by celebrity chef Geoffrey Zakarian so you know it's good. This one is their spiced pecan bourbon pie made with maple-molasses pecans, cream cheese pie dough and bourbon glaze. A plus side of eating in midtown: once you're filled to the brim with pie, walk to Bryant Park or Rockefeller Center for more holiday spirit.

Mac N' Cheese may not be a Thanksgiving classic in everyone's home, but it is in mine! And since everyone in my family has some sort of food allergy, the vegan mac from Urban Vegan Kitchen is ideal. Located in Greenwich Village, UVK makes their mac n' cheese with cashew cheese sauce, numu mozzarella, elbow macaroni, smoked paprika, and herbed bread crumb topping.

If you're looking to go 100% pumpkin this Thanksgiving, Bedford & Co., in Midtown has got you covered with their pumpkin tasting menu. You wouldn't guess seared scallops went well with pumpkin, here's your chance to be proven wrong.

And if the pie wasn't enough sweets, Odd Fellows (locations in the East Village and Brooklyn) created seasonal ice cream flavors like pumpkin s'mores, pecan pie, buttermilk apple and maple bacon.

It's a great day to be a hungry New Yorker. Happy Thanksgiving!
