Halloween Bloody Cake Eye Balls

Halloween Bloody Cake Eye Balls

Halloween has arrived people! I wanted to create a really gory, spooky Ballsy Bite in honor of the scary season. So, I present you with these delicious bloody eye balls made from red velvet cake, stuffed and coated with white chocolate. They are must haves at your Halloween party this year!

Serving size: 12 balls

Cake balls:

  • 1 box of red velvet cake mix (make as directed)

  • 1 package of cream cheese

  • 1 1/4 cups water

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

  • 3 eggs

  • 3 tbsp red food dye

  • 1 1/2 melted white chocolate chips

  • 3 tbsp Red food dye

  • 3 tbsp Black food dye

  • 1/3 cup corn syrup

  • 2 cups melted white chocolate chips

  1. Make your red velvet boxed cake as directed on the box. Bake and cool completely.

  2. Combine your cake with the package of cream cheese in order to form the dough. Set the dough aside.

  3. To make the core of the balls: combine white chocolate chips with red food dye and make small 1/2 inch sized balls. Chill the balls in the freezer for about 10 minutes.

  4. Wrap your red velvet cake and cream cheese dough around your chilled red chocolate balls. Melt a separate bowl of white chocolate chips and coat the balls in the white chocolate.

  5. To make the pupil of the eye: combine melted white chocolate chips and black food dye (can also mix red food dye and green food dye together to make black). Roll the mixture into tiny black pupil sized balls. Put a pupil on each one of your cake balls.

  6. Lastly, combine red food dye and corn syrup to make the bloody veins of the eyes. Drizzle this mixture on each eye. Chill the balls in the freezer for about 15 minutes.
